This includes ongoing preventive maintenance applications and data entry of specific treatments rendered. Clients will be looking to you for recommendations on treatment options, solutions and preventive maintenance programs. We treat most insects and spiders including wasps and hornets. The largest pests we treat are rodents.

The role of Field Technician carries a few additional components. From time to time you may be asked to help deliver chemicals to other technicians, assist other technicians with service calls, and help train new technicians. You must be friendly and polite with clients, coachable, a team player, and be able to work independently under pressure and professional in appearance to qualify.  100% In-Field Service Position. NO cold-calling. NO collections.

7a license and several years experience are preferred. Minumum requirements are a Registered Technician (RT) license and 1 year experience. Regardless of prior experience, we will train and educate the successful candidate on Our Award-Winning Way of Doing Things’. Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software or field technician dispatch systems is a definite PLUS!

The successful candidate will begin on a 90-Day Probationary Period (the same for all team members) where you will be paid an hourly rate between $12.50 and $15.50.  On top of hourly rate, you will recieve performance bonuses on additional services and maintenance agreements. Starting hourly rate based on prior experience and level of training required before you can be released to work on your own. During this probationary period NO benefits, paid sick time or paid vacation will be earned or granted.

After successfully completing the 90-Day Probationary Period, you will sit down with our company COO along with the Executive Committee for a discussion on your overall performance, strengths, weaknesses and potential areas for improvement moving forward. If we are satisfied with your performance you will officially become a FULL-time team member receiving paid personal time and paid vacation time. Your rate of pay is based on the VALUE you bring to the business.

Why YOU Would Want To Work Here...

About You...

This is where you need to be REAL honest with yourself and think about whether this job is right for you. If you're not sure, ask a trusted friend or family member if you are the right fit for this job. The first thing about you is that you should NOT just be interested in ‘punching a clock’ and getting a pay check – but in developing your skills and your career, and making a positive contribution to a business team and the community it serves. You understand the challenges of operating a small business and welcome them as valuable learning and growing opportunities. You understand what it is to be a HARD worker.  You LOVE helping people. Also, all applicants will undergo mandatory background and reference checks. We hate surprises.

So, are you still here, and reading? Great. We have more to share with you...

Your Skills...

You are able to learn quickly under pressure and follow directions. As “Field Technician” you will be in direct contact with clients as you visit their homes and businesses, therefore you MUST be professional in speech and appearance. You like people and enjoy the occassion conversation with a client. You are patient and tolerant while listening to a client explain the problems they're experiencing.

While mixing and applying treatments you are focused, accurate and detail oriented. You're thorough with each treatment and don't cut corners just to save time. You take pride in giving superior value to each and every client. You are able to manage your time effectively without constant supervision and can plan your route efficiently as new service calls come in throughout the day.

You are responsible and trustworthy and can handle money and credit card information given to you by clients. You can follow the legal instructions on chemical labels and apply them precisely as the manufacturer specifies on the label. You are a team-player and are eager to help out where needed. If these are not some of your strengths, this job isn't for you.

Your Personality...

It matters. A lot. You are confident and you exude energy and enthusiasm. You enjoy getting the details right and are focused as you work.  You are articulate. You have a good sense of humor and a cooperative attitude. You show kindness, patience and respect for others. You are ethical and honest even when no one is watching. You are punctual. You are able to take constructive criticism and correction without getting defensive or feeling “hurt” and discouraged. You look for solutions NOT excuses. You are an avid learner and extremely resourceful in finding solutions. You are a problem solver – NOT a problem reporter.

YOUR Professional Outlook and Ethics...

Since we will be paying you to work, this section is extremely important. You enjoy working and are grateful for opportunities to use your God-given talents and skills to make a positive influence and earn a living. You don’t view your job as an interruption of your life, but as a natural part of your life.

You understand you are not getting paid just for being at work but for how you spend your time at work (ie. The value you bring to the business). You understand that the reason the business exists is to make a profit and ALL who work here (team members, management & owners) must make that their foremost priority. Otherwise, the business will not be able to pay or keep employees.

You are scrupulous about using time "on the clock" for the benefit and purposes of the business, and NOT for managing your personal life (checking emails, texting, surfing the internet, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, long personal calls, etc.). Finally, you understand small business owners face risks everyday the business is open.  It's their neck on the line, so you agree to cooperate with the decisions they make, whether or not those decisions are to your liking.

We do not intend to be harsh, but simply to describe the reality of the job accurately. We truly bust our tails at Perseverance Pest Control, that’s why we need more help. We need someone who will be able to keep up with us. We don’t have the time nor do we enjoy micro-managing. We will clearly set out our expectations and remind you if you forget or if you fail to meet them. We want you to be part of our team and not just a worker here. We'll give you the tools and the autonomy you need to do the work that you are getting paid to do and that you hopefully ENJOY doing.

Finally, Our ‘We Will NOT Tolerate List’...

This Job Is NOT For Everyone!

So, these are the ‘Facts of Life’ at Perseverance Pest Control. If you are still reading and still interested in the challenge of being an important player on a growing, fast-paced “Award-Winning” small business, then carefully follow the instructions below to “raise your hand” and let us know who you are.  We look forward to meeting you.
